Inspiration can come from anywhere: the fields and woods on my farm, my experiences in stores and meeting clients, antiquing trips, magazines, and social media. Sometimes I’m most inspired hearing about what my friends and clients are loving. I wanted to share the top 10 things I’m excited about this month in the hope that it will help inspire you the way my friends’ favorite things inspire me. And I want to hear from you too! What is exciting and inspiring you this month?
Ombre Nails. I’m obsessed with everything ombre, but it can be hard to wear. I’m so excited to try the trend on my nails where it’ll be a great accent. The bonus is that I don’t need to find a mirror to enjoy the trend, because I get to see it on my hands all day!
Artis Brush Elite Gold Palm. Artis’ designs are so elegant, especially in gold; they’re almost like an art-piece on your vanity. I love the Palm Brush for its versatility, especially since I don’t wear a ton of makeup, but tend to wear it more this time of year for events and parties. I’ll use it to apply my Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Naughty for my signature rosy cheeks, to create subtle contour with Very Illuminating and Very Bronzing, and, if I want extra glow, to add extra highlight with the Illuminating Eye Crème and Illuminating Moisturizer on top.
Blackberry Farm, TN. Blackberry Farm is one of my favorite summer vacation spots. When the winter starts dragging in February, I start craving another trip. If I really need a winter pick-me-up, I’ll look at photos from my previous trips to try to recapture that warm sunny feeling!
Tata Harper Moisturizing Mask. My skin is naturally dry, but the cold winter months and constant trips between the windy outdoors and overheated indoors can really wreak havoc on it. This mask is my secret weapon for staying hydrated on long flights year-round, but it’s a major staple this time of year. I apply it at night whenever I feel dry, and even apply a thin layer during the day when I need an extra moisture boost.
Acne Studios Milli Wool Pants. I love spring fashion, and I’m already on the lookout for great transitional pieces to get me from winter to spring. These will be perfect – the color will work with both seasons’ color trends, the fabric is soft without being too thick, and the cut has a versatility that will make them work for both meetings and weekends.
Ganni Mira Shine Ankle boot. Even though I travel to cities all the time, I live on a farm, so I’m always looking for pieces that are stylish but still functional for farm life. These boots are the perfect combo of form and function, and are cute enough to wear in the city, too!
Michelle Obama. Throughout all of the political turmoil of the last several months, Michelle Obama has continued to be an incredible source of inspiration and a symbol of grace. She has done such amazing things as First Lady, and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
Taryn Toomey’s The Class. Fitness experiences that focus on both body and mind are rare, but that’s the core principle of Taryn’s classes: challenging the body and engaging the mind. I feel totally renewed both physically and mentally after The Class, and I try to catch sessions whenever I can.
Tata Harper Illuminating Moisturizer. I don’t tend to wear a lot of makeup, which is why I absolutely love the Illuminating Moisturizer: it gives me plumping hydration with a subtle luminescence for a polished glow in one step. It’s been such an essential throughout this month’s Fashion Week craziness, when my schedule doesn’t allow time for makeup but I want a little something extra to complete my look.
