Every so often, I like to give a little recap of what products Ive been loving lately and why. Skincare is something thats really important to me in my own life (surprise, surprise!), so I like to pay close attention to a products performance over time, as I use it consistently. I have quite a few standards that I hold products to, everything from the initial experience – was the packaging a pleasure to look at, and use? What was the first whiff of the scent like? – to its long-term results.
My picks this month? The Smoothing Body Scrub and Redefining Body Balm. Yes, yes – these are both new products, so no doubt I’m still a little enamored with them because they’re just so fresh. But they’re very high-quality too, and that’s really what matters. Here’s why I’ve been loving them:
I was lucky enough to fly to Hawaii for an event last week, and I made sure to put the Body Scrub to good use before I left on my trip, so that my skin was in its best shape for its first sunshine exposure of the year! I was careful to use it on dry skin, which is really what you want to do to get the best results and the maximum exfoliation. Before you even turn the water on, scrub it all over your body – head to toe; a little goes a long way, and water dilutes the exfoliating quality of the formula. (Stop a moment and appreciate that fresh jasmine scent – is it not so gorgeous?) Then, rinse – and you’ll be amazed at how soft and smooth it leaves the skin.
My favorite thing about the formula is that it contains Argan Oil to moisturize, so it’s really a 2-in-1. It takes care of dry patches, so you can just towel off and head out the door.
Next is the Redefining Body Balm, which I think is just the most luxuriously rich thing I’ve ever put on my body. I used a similar formula when I was pregnant, that I made myself, but now I love it just to keep my skin nourished and soft. I love to use it on dry areas on my feet and elbows, and I use it on my torso and legs. It’s so lush!
PS – the huge purple lilac tree on our farm just started opening up its fragrant flowers, and I was just so excited I had to put their blooms to use in these photos. Thank goodness for spring!
