It seems as though this time of year every where you turn there is a sweet treat or sugary cocktail. As the holiday season is in full swing, it can be hard to avoid all the tasty temptations at various parties or get togethers. So, in response, when I am making my meals at home I try to be as healthy as possible. Therefore this time of year, I use my juicer non stop. Last week we shared a recipe for a Carrot, Orange and Turmeric Juice. This week we are moving on to more greens with a Kiwi Blueberry Recipe. Again I turned to my favorite recipe book, Juice. Blend. Taste. by Cindy Palusamy. Continue reading to learn how to make this juice full of antioxidants and vitamin C.
Kiwi Blueberry Cooler
2 kiwi peeled: A Vitamin C, fiber and immunity boost.
1 2/3 cups of blueberries: While you might think of blueberries and their sweet taste, they are actually surprisingly low in sugar (!) while being high in antioxidants. It is extremely important to have antioxidants in our diets as they help to work against free radicals and prevent cell damage.
2 celery stalks: help aid digestion and provide antioxidants.
1 cucumber: cucumbers are a great addition to juice recipes because they provide extra hydration.
5 basil leaves: a great way to extra add taste to your juice with this herb that has cell boosting properties.
Add all the ingredients to your juicer. Drink immediately at room temperature, or if you want to mix it up a bit, pour the juice into your blender with ice for a cold alternative!
