@chanelamundo: Good question I recommend a naturally soothing solution, such as diluting 8-10 drops of chamomile, calendula or lavender essential oil in cool water and applying to the skin (you never want to apply essential oils directly to the skin, so either blend with water, or a bit of a carrier oil like jojoba or sweet almond). Or, you can apply raw honey to any inflamed area, which is super calming and healing for the skin. Then, put a bit of apple cider vinegar on a cotton pad and pat down the inflamed area. It should feel a lot better after this!
@monas214: Hi there! Its awesome that youre taking preventative age-defying actions – that is definitely the best strategy. For people your age, I recommend the Rejuvenating Serum, using it every day along with your Cleanser and Eye Creme. Its a complete treatment that will keep the skin in great shape. Youre at the perfect age to start daily care!
@pepperlola2014: Hi! Your best bet in my opinion is our Concentrated Brightening Serum. It just won Allures Best of Beauty Award for its ability to really, truly remove dark spots – but without a single drop of synthetic chemicals! It has ingredients that treat the entire cascade of events that lead to a dark spot, while also tackling existing hyper pigmentation. Ive been using it consistently for a year and can say it works wonders. Keep up with your SPF, too!
@kladendorf3: Great question. Its important to note that Rosacea is a real skin condition that varies in intensity from person to person. In my opinion, when it comes to calming rosacea, the more gentle the skincare, the better – you dont want to use anything intense that causes a flare-up of redness or bumps. Our Refreshing Cleanser is perfect for your skin type, and so is our Nourishing Oil Cleanser (which is about to launch!) – theyre both very, very gentle and wont cause any irritation or redness. Theyre packed with calming ingredients. Id also recommend our Replenishing Nutrient Complex, to use daily. Its a soothing, regenerating light oil serum that feeds the skin what it needs to be balanced and calm. A lot of our customers with very sensitive skin conditions have had a lot of success using this and the Refreshing Cleanser together. Hope this helps!
@lisaatia: Exfoliate! Blackheads are caused by sebum (the oil our skin produces naturally) and daily buildup of dirt and dead skin cells. Sloughing off that buildup every day is key for reducing blackheads. Cleanse with a a lightly exfoliating product like our Regenerating Cleanser every day, and use the Resurfacing Mask 2 times a week for a super clarifying treatment!
@girlginger: Hi, thanks for your question! I recommend my go-to regimen for testy, problematic skin that still needs sensitive-friendly formulas. Try the Regenerating Cleanser for daily cleansing, softening and polishing, and the Rebuilding Moisturizer for matte-finish moisture. Then, use the Replenishing Nutrient Complex to help soothe irritation, moisturize and give the skin the nutrients it needs to glow. Use the Resurfacing Mask twice a week to battle the breakouts – and dont forget to eat well and stay hydrated, to keep the skin balanced from within! Hope this helps!
@christinaeugenia: A short and simple question, I love it! For puffy eyes, I recommend my Restorative Eye Creme – a miracle worker that addresses all of the top aging concerns in the eye area. Massage it gently into the skin with some circular rotations around the eye area to promote microcirculation and to flush away some of the stagnant fluid that is causing the puffiness. Make sure you are drinking lots of water – dehydration is a top cause of puffy eyes, as is salt and caffeine! For big pores, its important to know that pores dont have muscles that can cause them to become larger and smaller – they cant actually contract – but it is possible to make them look smaller by keeping the skin totally free of buildup and dead skin. Try our Resurfacing Mask for 20-30 minutes. It makes pores look visibly smaller instantly and gives the skin a really clean, fresh glow. Youll love it!
@mjpthbt: Great question! I lived in warm climates for years (Colombia and Miami, too!) so I am a pro at this particular climate. While sometimes in humid climates it seems okay to skip a daily moisturizer, I recommend just choosing one thats lightweight, like our Hydrating Floral Essence, which is packed with Hyaluronic Acid but comes in the form of a light, refreshing spray so its not super heavy. Use the Resurfacing Mask 2x a week to keep the skin free and clear of dead skin, sweat and pollution buildup. After repeated use youll see the skin really feels much softer and looks fresh and glowing. Hope this helps! xo
@jennajanssens: This is a great Q! Massaging as you cleanse your skin with the Refreshing Cleanser is great as it boosts blood flow to give the skin a natural glow. About 1-2 minutes is a good idea, but if you are in a rush, no worries if you are only able to massage for 30 seconds.
@_kate_lewis: Hi Kate! I know what you mean – my skin is on the dry side, too. Thats why my products are all about preserving that essential moisture balance that keeps skin soft and supple! First, use a cleanser with no soaps or detergents. Our Regenerating Cleanser, Refreshing Cleanser, Nourishing Oil Cleanser are all perfect options – they all help preserve moisture. Then, spritz with our Hydrating Floral Essence which is packed with Hyaluronic Acid to replenish moisture – follow with an age-defying treatment like our Rejuvenating Serum. Then, use a moisturizer, like our Repairative Moisturizer, which is rich and delivers day-long but lightweight moisture. I think following with a face oil is always a good idea, just to lock in all of the hydration. Our Beautifying Face Oil (launching next month!) is a great solution for something lightweight, while our Replenishing Nutrient Complex is a super rich option. Be sure to drink lots of water, and spritz the Hydrating Floral Essence on the skin throughout the day to replenish any lost moisture!
@katherinejmcwilliams: I recommend exfoliating gently every single day, to stay on top of the buildup of dead skin that we produce every day. Our Regenerating Cleanser is perfect for daily use; it has little micro-spherical beads of apricot seed powder to gently buff and polish the skin. After just a few days, your skin will GLOW! As for preventing lines, use an age-defying eye treatment, that is your best bet! Our Restorative Eye Creme is a miracle and one of our best-sellers. Hope this helps! xo
@nimrel: Great question. I think that micro dermabrasion can definitely help solve a lot of skin concerns, and no doubt makes the skin look better in the short term. My opinion is that treatments like that are used rarely and sparingly on the skin as opposed to a regular thing, which can wear away at the strength and integrity of the skin. Yes, no doubt the skin absorbs treatments more quickly when it is so thoroughly exfoliated!
@mine_93karadeniz: Hi there! Id recommend our Resurfacing Mask for blemishes, and our Replenishing Nutrient Complex as a healing treatment for leftover blemishes that is of course 100% natural and all about helping the skin regenerate and balance. For dark eye circles, try our Restorative Eye Creme, which has an ingredient called Eyebright which helps brighten the signs of fatigue around the eyes – I use it every day and it works miracles! For makeup, be sure to check out our Lip and Cheek Tints, which are universally flattering, easily blend-able shades. Xo!
@faithandcomposition: Youre not alone! Hyperpigmentation appears mostly as a result of sun exposure (but also other types of damage, like smoking and exposure to pollution), and its tough to get rid of. I recommend trying our Concentrated Brightening Serum. Otherwise, the best treatment is to always wear SPF and avoid lots of sun exposure. There are other natural solutions floating around out there, like using lemon juice or onion juice, or papaya pulp to lighten spots. I’ve never tried those and cant necessarily recommend them, but they might be worth investigating!
@iammelaniescott: Hi, great question! I would suggest our Rejuvenating Serum if you are under the age of 40, and our Elixir Vitae Serum if you are over 40 and starting to be concerned about wrinkles and expression lines. Both serums are packed with active ingredients, including the latest in neuropeptide technology, which smooth the look of the skin. I use the Elixir every day and cant get enough! Xo
@noellemb: Hi Noelle! So glad to hear you are focusing on natural, nontoxic skincare during your pregnancy – that is so important! Our entire line is absolutely safe for use during pregnancy. I used every product during all 3 of my pregnancies and everything was wonderful. Definitely go for the Serum, your skin will love it – and may I recommend the Revitalizing Body Oil as well? It helps preserve elasticity and hydration throughout the entire body. Xo!
@ceryltate: Hi! Thanks for being a fan, I am so happy to hear it!! Great question. First, in terms of oil vs. serum vs. lotion, never feel that a serum is vs anything – serums are standalone in their importance and should be part of every daily regimen! As for oil vs. lotion, that is something that is a hot topic right now. I think it depends on your skin type. It sounds like you need another moisturizer in addition to your Floral and Serum regimen – the Floral is great but its lightweight and I think youd benefit from either the Repairative Moisturizer (which is rich and developed for dry skin), or our Beautifying Face Oil, which is launching October 15th! The Face Oil is lightweight also but super hydrating and semi-dry, so it leaves the skin glowing but not greasy. I think youll love it – I am already addicted. Stay tuned for its launch! 🙂
@immanuelrm: Great question – for dental care, I avoid products like Crest and Colgate because they contain synthetic dyes, flavors and often have sweeteners in them. Ive been using Toms toothpaste for years and I love it!
@louisa.kahl: Hi Louisa! Rosacea is tough but can definitely be helped by gentle, nourishing products that are formulated to balance and heal the skin. Two products in our line are the Refreshing Cleanser and Replenishing Nutrient Complex (which we are sampling today with any order, so you can try it out – details are above!) – these products are specifically formulated for sensitive skin and are packed with regenerating and calming benefits. I think youll really love them. As for your skin changing due to dieting, that is a really great question! Id say that as long as your diet is fresh, colorful and packed with nutrients, your skin will find its own healthy balance in terms of elasticity and regeneration. Dry-brushing, exfoliating and exercise all help promote blood flow through the entire epidermis and keep the skin resilient and toned. Hopefully this helps – best of luck! xo
@sabrinamumm: Hi Sabrina! Yes, our SPF is coming out in 2015. We are working hard on it to make sure it is super effective while still being 100% natural, of course. We love a brand called Soleil Organique that makes all natural sunscreen. Thanks for being a fan of the line! xo
@tashodice: Hi there! Id recommend a daily regimen thats all about balancing, nourishing and calming the skin. Our product line is really fantastic for sensitive skin as its completely free of irritating chemicals and instead works to reduce inflammation and promote regeneration. Try our Refreshing Cleanser and Replenishing Nutrient Complex, for starters. The Complex is something were sampling today with any order, so you can try it out! (Details are above). Its a miracle worker for dry, sensitive skin as its healing, moisturizing and balancing. Hope this helps! Xo
@t2230: Great question. Ice pick scars are challenging to treat because theyre caused by an actual loss of tissue, so you want to focus on natural treatments that promote regeneration of cells. As for products, our Replenishing Nutrient Complex is an amazing, super concentrated nutrition treatment that promotes regeneration and healing – that is the one product in our line that you absolutely wouldnt want to be without (we are sampling it today in a 3ml size with any order, so you can give it a try! Details are above ;). Otherwise, one natural ingredient that really promotes regeneration is calendula oil. Something to look into! xo
@msmlcurtin: Begin with a diet that supports clear skin: lots of water, limited refined sugar and processed foods. Lots of colorful, fresh veggies and fruits! Work to reduce stress and inner causes of outer disruption. Be sure to exfoliate gently every day to control the daily buildup of dead skin (our Regenerating Cleanser is a good bet) and use our Resurfacing Mask 2x a week. Best of luck! xo
@tabby0309: Hi there! First of all, its important to know that you do look beautiful without makeup, and that confidence is the first and most important step towards totally glowing. 🙂 As for an even skin tone, its all about regular exfoliation, hydration, and nourishing the skin so that it finds its natural balance. Id recommend our Regenerating Cleanser (use 2x a day!), our Resurfacing Mask (use 2x a week), and our Replenishing Nutrient Complex, which softens, heals and calms any inflammation to make the skin appear even and glowing. I think youll love. Best of luck xo!
@mllekan: Sun exposure can really cause so many problems – Im glad youre paying attention and are taking preventative steps to keep your skin healthy! SPF is really the main solution for avoiding sun spots. Definitely apply it liberally to the hands on days that you are in the sun! It has ingredients that treat the entire cascade of events that lead to a dark spot, while also tackling existing discoloration….I recommend our Concentrated Brightening Serum (which just took home the Allure Best of Beauty Award!), which treats discoloration. As for foods for a great complexion, a colorful, fresh diet is your best bet. Lots of berries, avocados, nuts, fresh water, leafy greens and wild caught salmon. Avoid refined sugar and processed foods! Hope this helps – xo.
@angela.c.hsieh: Hi Angela, so great to hear you are a fan, thank you! For oily T-zones, I recommend regular treatments with our Resurfacing Mask (up to 3x/week to help control oil), just in the spots where you need it. Oily skin is tough to manage but make sure you dont skimp on moisture. A great moisturizer for oily skin is our Hydrating Floral Essence, which delivers oil-free, lightweight hydration. Hope this helps! Xo.
@jhulstrunk: Our Concentrated Brightening Serum, absolutely!
@elbotryan: Lots of water, avocado, berries (especially blueberries!), sweet potatoes, leafy greens, wild caught salmon, apricots, cucumber, lemon thats just the beginning of the list. Essentially, a fresh, colorful diet is what makes the skin glow! 🙂
@stefmfeder: Hi! Yes, you should absolutely use a moisturizer if you have oily skin. Often people with oily / combo skin want to avoid moisturizers but in fact your skin still needs moisture in its deeper layers, where it is dry (despite the surface layer of oil). Our Rebuilding Moisturizer is formulated to be perfect for oily skin. It leaves a matte finish. Our Rejuvenating Serum is a perfect age-defying treatment for oily skin – you should try it, I think youll love! xo
@cosmicdear: Hi there! You are not alone , blemishes are a toughie! It can come from so many things – diet, stress, hormones, pollution, and can be hard to manage. Watch your intake of greasy, salty, fatty foods as they all contribute to bad skin – definitely avoid refined sugar! Be sure to drink lots of water (with lemon juice helps), and cleanse thoroughly daily. Avoid clogging the skin with heavy moisturizers and makeup. Sometimes, blemishes are caused by unexpected things, like a zinc deficiency for example! Sweating is always a good thing for the skin as it promotes blood flow and the skins natural detox process (unless its not washed off properly, of course). Seeing a dermatologist would be a good idea if you want to get to the root cause. Best of luck! xo
