Over the course of planning and hosting our fair share of events, here’s what we’ve come to understand: the flowers can make – or break – the entire show. When we sat down to plan our Summer Summit evening dinner, our daydreams knew no limit: we wanted the flowers to fill the tent, to compliment our beautiful farm setting, to call attention to the seasonally fresh wildflowers growing in abundance all around us. We wanted them to be lush, delicate, dramatic, natural.
Luckily, we found Erin, at Nectar and Root, who made our dreams come true, and then some. Erin’s adoration for flowers came through as we were planning the decor together, and she could practically read our minds; crafting the perfect aesthetic around our vaguely depicted daydreams.
Here’s what Nectar and Root had to say about their process of creating the stunning images for our event. We’ve included some photo highlights here; the overall effect of their work was just what we had envisioned: elegant, simple, striking, and fully in character with our Vermont scenery.
“Nectar & Root drew inspiration from Tatas lineup of beautifying floral ingredients including rose, eucalyptus, mint, yarrow, chamomile and lavender to create botanical tablescapes for the supper tables. Local foliage and flowers were sourced from farmers and the Vermont landscape such as clematis, queen annes lace, cosmos and nigella seed pods.
Erin filled sap buckets with smokebush for its plum-colored leaves and added accents of fragrant garlands throughout the space for a bohemian feel with wildflowers fit for the honey bees and guests alike. A mixture of herbs and lush blooms lent to the eclectic and genuine feel of the evening.
As a nod to the Honey Blossom Resurfacing Mask, which uses Vermont-harvested raw honey, we used yellows and plums to complement the greenery in our arrangements. We sourced flowers from local growers and beyond, and even harvested some of our own from Vermonts natural landscape, such as the Queen Annes Lace used in several different arrangements.
We wanted to use ingredients that evoke the free spirit and natural Origins of Tatas brand, which can be seen in the sundry herbs like chamomile and eucalyptus, and the varied lines, sizes and heights of the flowers. This was an amazing event, and we were so pleased to be able to team up with Tata Harper.”
