It’s obvious that we on the Tata Harper team are passionate about natural and nontoxic skincare – we believe that no woman should have to compromise her health for her beauty. But our passion for natural and sustainable products extends well past skincare; we use natural cleaning products at our cow-powered headquarters in Vermont, buy recycled and recyclable office supplies, eat as locally as possible, use refillable water bottles, and more. This passion, and our mission, is fueled by the fact that what is nontoxic and sustainably sourced is not only better for our bodies, but also so for the environment. So, naturally, Earth Day is a big day for us. Today we focus on doing right by the environment around us and the environment of our bodies. We’ll be volunteering to support our Vermont community armed with locally and organically sourced smoothies (follow us on snapchat to see what we’re up to!), and we couldn’t think of a better way to support our global community than by partnering with the Breast Cancer Fund and their project, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.
The Breast Cancer Fund works to prevent breast cancer by eliminating our exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation linked to the disease. They translate the growing body of scientific evidence linking breast cancer and environmental exposures into public education and advocacy campaigns to reduce breast cancer risk, raise awareness about hazardous ingredients that contaminate our bodies and our environment, and promote public policies that protect our health. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics coalition, a project of the Breast Cancer Fund, works to pressure the cosmetics industry to make safer products. They aim to protect the health of consumers, workers and the environment through public education and engagement, corporate accountability and sustainability campaigns and legislative advocacy with the goal of eliminating dangerous chemicals linked to adverse health impacts from cosmetics and personal care products.
Today 20% of every sale on our website will be donated to these incredible and essential efforts. Join us to support the Breast Cancer Fund and their Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and their work to make the products we use every day safe for our bodies and our world.
