Read on for plenty of refreshing beauty tips and heartfelt advice on motherhood and beyond.
1. What’s the most important lesson you have learned so far as a mother?
That you have to let go of all the preconceptions that you had before, such as “I will let him cry,” or “I will breast feed him for 6 months.” It’s such a revolution! And it’s a good lesson for my life in general as I always want to plan everything.
2. How has being a mom changed your beauty routine?
Well, the main changes are due to lack of time! No more time for mask, scrub, bath, massage, etc. But because of that, the Moisturizing Mask is perfect as I go to bed with it on at least once a week and I wash my face every morning with the Purifying Cleanser–super quick! And no more lipstick so I can kiss my son all the time. Otherwise, it’s pretty much the same products–all natural ones–as I used before, eat lots of organic fruits and vegetables and do as many sports as I can (Gyrotonic, yoga, pilates, bike, etc.).
3. What is your favorite way to spend time with your family?
We have such busy lives that it’s super simple things, such as going to the French typical cafe early in the morning before our day starts, or finishing [the day] at the same cafe before going back home and having a glass of wine while giving Leonard his purée. And I can’t wait for our first holiday with the 3 of us this summer (he’ll turn one year in July ), we’re going to Greece!
4. What is the best piece of advice about motherhood you have ever been given?
It’s not one advice, it’s the way she is: She is so kind and thoughtful, and always here when you need her–I wish I will be the same with my kids. In term of beauty tips, few extremely classic advices (but so true): Never go to bed without washing your face and moisturizing your body after each shower/bath, and mega protect your skin against the sun.
5. How do you celebrate Mother’s Day in your home?
With my mum it’s very classic. All the family is reunited for a Sunday lunch with flowers and cakes! And for me (as a mum), it will be the first time this year, so I don’t know yet!
6. Do you have any de-stressing or pampering rituals that you like to do on a daily or weekly basis?
I am lucky enough as I am not a very stressed person, as long as I sleep 7/8 hours at night. But the best de-stressing ritual for me is to move, spend time with my family, and have a good glass of wine at the end of the day. I have to always take care of my skin and pay attention to what I eat, so it is not even a ritual for me, it is how I live.
