Happy New Year! You made it through the first week of 2015. How does it feel? Probably the same as 2014, only a tad colder? Like most parts of the northeast region, we are experiencing below freezing temperatures here in Vermont so we,( I) have been sprinting from home to car to office and back with little time outdoors because its just so brutally cold. (Meet the delicate flower of the Tata Harper team).
Needless to say Im spending a lot of time online because of my time indoors so Ive read countless resolutions shared on some of my favorite blogs, but, sorry, the LAST thing I want this week is a cold salad. No, no Im not interested in cold pressed juices. Finally, this I have to say, to those I sharing their morning run via Nike Fuel App (the truest tell-tale sign of a real New Englander, btw) Rea-lly?!.
I thought it would be fun to share a list of 5 things that would be the opposite of a typical New Years Resolution for those like me, who just are not ready to cross over. Give me 10 more degrees! Consider it “The Good Girl Gone Bad’s Guide to NY Resolutions”; things you shouldnt resolve to do but really should at least every once in a while. Its good to indulge and these are some indulgences worthy of discovery in the year ahead.
The hot water with lemon morning ritual starts next week. Today, on the other hand, Ill have a cup of Middlebury Chocolate hot cocoa on my way home from the office, but if I order one for the road from anywhere, it would be from Baked in Brooklyn which I found on this list, the 27 Of The Greatest Places In The World To Get Hot Chocolate. Why am I just seeing this list now?
MORE SHACKING UP
The insanely delicious burgers and fries you can get at Shake Shack are no secret, but what you might not know is they have hot chocolate on the menu when the weather gets cold (theyre ranked #1 on the list above) AND there are more unknown delicious items they serve up that I had no idea about… like beer & lemonade and Shack-Cago Burgers. Check out the full list of hidden items on the Shake Shack Secret menu shared here.

When the team meets in New York, we often meet in the Harpers Upper West Side office which conveniently happens to be a walk from both Shake Shack and Levain Bakery. Danger zone. Consider it the most famous cookie in New York, LeVain bakery cookies cost four dollars, look like hockey pucks and weigh about 30 pounds. They are exceptionally good and a very, very, very special treat. If you dont live in New York and are curious to try, heres a recipe you can DIY from blogger duo and couple Kevin & Amanda. (They look like they’re having so much fun!)
Who makes a resolution to watch more TV? Someone who doesnt own a TV so every once in a while I love to have a full series bender on a winter weekend. Do you ever do that? A couple years ago it was Breaking Bad, which haunted my dreams after plowing through 2 seasons during one particularly bad snowstorm. Even though I have watched every episode, Im planning on revisiting all seasons of Sex and the City with my sister this winter because it’s her favorite plus I like to watch for the hair and makeup inspo, it’s still relevant! Recently I found the entire series on sale on Amazon in this DVD set. (That hair…and, that man.)

Our Director of Finance has a sign up in his office, thats a typical saying of any growing business that reads Pressure is a Privilege. This has perhaps been one of the greatest lessons of 2014. Were growing quickly thanks to women and men who are loving the products which makes our jobs extremely rewarding. Theres another saying work hard, play hard and I havent lived up to that one nearly as much so this year Ive decided on Vegas (and a professional size of Elixir Vitae) for my 30th birthday. Its not going to be all wild n out though because (believe it or not) you can find places to live la vida without the loca there. Aside from cake and blackjack, I cant wait to relax, rehydrate and work out with my best friends at the Canyon Ranch Spa Club at the Venetian. Our line is carried at their Massachusetts location, which is beyond beautiful, so I’m really looking forward to visiting them out west.
Peace and confetti,
