It’s the week before Christmas, and the internet is abuzz with charming photos of twinkling lights and mugs of hot chocolate. I’ll keep this week’s post brief, because there is just so much high quality holiday-themed content out there that begs to be read (like Joanna Goddard’s impossibly perfect Gift guides, and the New York Times’ gift guide, which is so entertaining) that it’s literally difficult to linger on one post for too long! Believe me, I’ve been bouncing around between tabs at record speed for days now, trying to stay on top of it all, which is fun but headache-inducing.
1: The Spotify Playlist: “A Classic Christmas”
Don your flannel, put on a pot of tea (or whip up some homemade Egg Nog, which is actually really easy!), and turn on this playlist, which is pretty much holiday perfection in all of its old-fashioned glory. I could listen to Frank Sinatra croon about snowfall all year, and have had these songs on repeat in the office.
2: The New Potato’s Holiday Cleanse Guide”
Isn’t it strange how holiday messaging is all about indulge-indulge-indulge, and then as soon as the New Year rolls around, it’s all about cleanse-diet-exercise? I believe that truly enjoying the holidays is all about striking a peaceful balance between treating myself and sticking to my year-round healthy-eating philosophy. Therefore, this post from the New Potato was a welcome sight to my eyes: so many ways to get and stay healthy despite the general plethora of seasonal truffles/cookies/peppermints! Nutritionist Mikaela Reuben goes deep with eating and drinking ideas for when you’re needing a healthy boost, which are totally applicable and relevant year-round. Print this one out and study!
3: TLC Sneak Peek…
On Monday, I had the pleasure of working among piles of fresh flowers all day. We were shooting the creative photography for our Loyalty Club, which we are developing in earnest, to launch next Spring! The visual vibe? Lush, eternal-summertime florals. Here’s a few photos from the day spent in the photo studio. Keep your eyes peeled for the entire campaign due in ’15!
4: Possibly the Yummiest Looking Cookie Ever
Photo via notwithoutsalt.com
The blog and cookbook Not Without Salt makes my mouth water. That crisp, green lettuce, those oh-s0-snackable roasted nuts, these cookies!! White chocolate peppermint cookies with vanilla salt. I haven’t made these yet, but I hope to this weekend. Do they not look divine?!
5: 13 Dogs + 1 Cat Eating a Feast with Human Hands…
It’s as weird as it sounds, and WAY funnier. This brought a lot of laughter to my day, and looks like it’s going viral. I suggest you give it a watch, and a share? Isn’t it clever?!
